Spotify Redesign
This project explores a conceptual redesign of Spotify’s mobile experience with a focus on improving usability, visual hierarchy, and navigation clarity. The goal was to reduce cognitive load, simplify content discovery, and create a more personalized and engaging listening experience for users.
Through this redesign, I analyzed existing pain points in the interface, evaluated how users navigate and interact with music content, and proposed UI and interaction improvements that better support browsing, searching, and daily listening behaviors. The final outcome emphasizes clearer information architecture, stronger hierarchy, and a more cohesive visual system while maintaining Spotify’s core brand identity.

Challenge
Spotify’s mobile interface presented a high density of content on key screens, making it harder for users to quickly scan, prioritise, and discover new music.
Inconsistent spacing, contrast, and hierarchy reduced readability and made navigation feel visually overwhelming during everyday listening.
Core features such as lyrics, playlists, and recommendations were distributed across multiple entry points, interrupting the flow between discovery and active listening.
The challenge was to simplify and reorganise the interface to improve clarity and usability while preserving Spotify’s recognisable brand and expressive visual identity.
Solution
Interface Simplification: Refined layouts with clearer hierarchy and consistent spacing to reduce cognitive load and improve scannability across core screens.
Enhanced Navigation: Streamlined the bottom navigation and reorganised key sections to support faster access to discovery, search, and library content.
Visual Refresh: Introduced a darker, cleaner aesthetic with refined typography and modernised iconography while preserving Spotify’s recognisable visual tone.
Personalisation: Elevated user-driven content such as top artists, genres, and playlists to make recommendations feel more relevant and context-aware.
